Magnifying glass with burl wood handle (I believe briar) and matching ballpoint pen with lined sterling silver cap and gold–plate pocket clip and nozzle. No maker’s mark, but I was told by the retailer who sold them to me that they were made by Montegrappa. Still, no name on them so I cannot say that for certain. Mint, lovely, and very nice quality…………………………………………………$125 for the set.
Pier Cardin: Unusual three-piece set consists of a fountain pen (cartridge/converter) , a roller ball, and a letter opener. Very unusual design. Aluminum pen casings. Mint……………………………………………$85
Desk set: dip pen with steel nib and ballpoint. Pinstripe sterling silver/contrasting gold-plate trim. Just gorgeous. Hallmarked. Maker not identified, possibly Montegrappa. Mint and high quality…….$125
Desk set: steel nib dip pen, ballpoint, and matching letter opener. Pinstripe sterling silver. Gorgeous and hallmarked. Maker is not identified, possibly Montegrappa. Mint and high quality………….$165
Lalex 1938 large and hefty roller ball and twist action pencil 0.7mm, sterling silver caps and yellow lacquer barrels. The set is mint, though pocket clips have a few very minor scuffs and there is a tiny loss of lacquer where the threads meet the cap on the roller ball. Great combination of color and flash with the yellow barrels set against the engraved sterling caps……………………………………...$125 for set.
Sterling Silver Pens: Davide Lessari, Lalex, Unbranded
Davide Lessari fountain pen and roller ball, both mint. I couldn’t find much on Davide Lessari. Possibly a designer or Italian retailer. Pens are quite striking with burl caps and sterling silver hallmarked barrels. Possibly made by Montegrappa since I got them from the same retailer mentioned earlier. Fountain pen nib is stainless steel and appears to be a Fine. It’s a small nib relative to the size of the pen, and the section tapers down quite a bit. Cartridge/converter fill. I can send additional photos. They are very clean and quite appealing. Choice………...$65 Both………………….$115 if available.
LaLex Trio: fountain pen, roller ball, ballpoint. Another attractive trio. Caps have a bluish-heather cast to them. Material has almost a fine felt feel. Fine-lined sterling silver barrels. Set is mint with a slight bit of shop wear (scuffs) to the pocket clip on the roller ball. Fountain pen is cartridge/converter and it has a fine steel nib. Will send more pics if necessary. Choice…..$75. If available, $195 for all three.
No Name twist-action ballpoint pen and roller ball. Lined sterling silver cap and barrel. Black cabochon on top of cap of ballpoint. Takes Parker refills. Roller ball has smooth cap top without cabochon. Also, slight flair at bottom of cap on roller ball and its pocket clip is marked “Germany” on top. Lovely and functional pens at a reasonable price. Mint…………………………………Choice: $75
Altanus twist action ballpoint and roller ball. Lined sterling silver cap and barrel. Altanus is an Italian watch company since 1914. The ballpoint pen is marked Altanus but the roller ball is not. Hallmarked sterling silver. Pens are mint. Ballpoint takes Parker refill. Choice: ……………$75
Lalex pair of ballpoints, one twist action and the other is cap actuated (the thinner one). Lined sterling silver cap and barrel. Gold-electroplate trim. Mint. Choice………………………………………….$75
Lalex twist-action ballpoint, black lacquer with shiny contrasting trim. There are no hallmarks indicating that the shiny portions are sterling silver. A lovely large, hefty pen and definitely a candidate for the Black Pen Society. Pen makes quite a statement. Mint. ………………………………………….$85
